If you’re here, it’s probably because you’re ready to take your life back. I know because I was there not that long ago too.
When I was 51, I was bloated, moody and overweight. My skin was breaking out and my digestion was suffering. I was desperate to stop the cycle of dieting, sleepless nights, moodiness, hot flashes, bloating, acne and poor digestion, so I went to see my doctor.
He diagnosed me with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and sent me home with pills. I was devastated and couldn’t help but wonder if there was another way. That’s how my journey into a plant based lifestyle began.
I started watching every health documentary I could find, which opened my eyes to the negative effects of animal products on the gut and hormones. This led me to eliminate dairy from my diet virtually overnight.
Within weeks, my complexion had cleared up and the bloating was gone. It was clear to me that I was on the right path, so I decided to slowly eliminate animal products from my diet and replace them with whole foods.
By 52, I was all in. I was passionate about this new lifestyle, but I wanted to make sure that I was doing it in the healthiest way possible, so I got certified in vegan nutrition.
This solidified my belief in the healing power of plants and yet it felt like nobody knew about it. That’s why I decided to start Livin’ La Vida Plant Based to share nutrition information, delicious recipes, fitness tips and so much more. I also decided to become a certified Holistic Plant Based Nutrition Coach so that I can help others who are struggling with gut health and hormone imbalance to heal and thrive at any age.
At 57, I have more energy and have never felt better both physically and mentally. By following a plant based lifestyle, I feel stronger and can maintain a healthy weight naturally. Most importantly, I have rediscovered my “alegria de la vida” (joy of life)—mind, body and soul.
