Someday I’ll go on that vacation, start taking better care of myself, start a new venture etc etc…I’ve been guilty of this more times than I care to remember. A lot of times, the obstacles preventing us from moving forward are of our own making.
The unknown, what others will think, or feelings of not being “good enough” are fear-based blocks we place to justify why we can’t or won’t take that next step. Failure is part of growth—anyone that has ever achieved what they wanted did so with a few failures along the way.
Have you ever heard of the palliative care nurse that wrote Regrets of the Dying? She wrote about the top regrets her patients had when they were faced with death and the number one answer was…
“I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”
When I read this, it broke my heart and solidified my resolve to live “my” best life, with no regrets. The truth is, there are only two guarantees in life, death and taxes! There is never the right time to do anything, one just has to decide and do.
What is your someday?
