Hi, I’m Mirella

I am a long-time health and fitness advocate, now certified in vegan nutrition. In late 2016, I was experiencing various digestive issues, skin breakouts and a general feeling of rollercoaster unwellness. By the following February, I had watched the documentary What the Health and decided that it was time for me to give up dairy.

Within a few weeks of eliminating certain foods from my diet, I started to feel so much better. I started to watch more and more documentaries before finally giving up eggs. By September 2017, I was all in.

In 2019, I started Livin’ La Vida Plant Based so that I could share vegan nutrition information, delicious recipes, fitness tidbits and so much more. Although I have always been into health and fitness, it wasn’t until I became vegan that I reached a level of overall wellness that is effortless and consistent.

At 54, I have more energy and have never felt better both physically and mentally. By eating a plant based diet, I feel stronger and can naturally maintain a healthy weight (no more fad diets!) What started for purely health reasons has now evolved into a passion for animal welfare and overall sustainable living.
